A song about my good friend and genius songwriter/artist Jim Faulkner with whom I was in a duo with called Harbour Lights back in 2002. Jim was and still is an inspiration and I always think when writing 'now would Jimmy say I could do better'.
lyrics
We were, so young
When my words were dumb
You could make them work
A tale told and imagery
These were things you shared
And the lyrics were repaired
So glad to know my like minded fool
Amazing phrases always came to you
And if they didn’t fit we’d just go and break the rules
And show them why, we were fools
A bass line from the seventh page
Those chords can stay the same
But try the words again
A masterclass, from Johnny D
A visit from GT
To show us what he’d bought, he never payed a lot
So glad to know my like minded fool
Amazing phrases always came to you
And if they didn’t fit we’d just go and break the rules
And show them how, we were fools
So glad to know my like minded fool
Amazing phrases always came to you
And if they didn’t fit we’d just go and break the rules
And show them how, and told them how,
We were fools
