antwallace Love the feel of the songs and the sound of the recording. Great stuff and you should definitely consider your mission complete. Not that you actually needed to get any better!

Solid Ground 02:03
I was told, I was a mess and I was told I was someone else My feet that were not safe and sound Are now on solid ground Are you really ready now to let this go? Understated, resting heart beats nice and low My feet that were not safe and sound Are now on solid ground And now that I’m no longer bound I’m missing the cracks on the ground My feet that were not safe and sound Are now on solid ground

There is a space here There is a sanctuary Falling sensations In me Calling on patience Counting on entropy Riding on chaos In me In the summer Was the sunlight In the summertime It was black and white There is a sea change It happens gradually The weight has been lifted but It’s left a hole in me In the summer Was the sunlight In the summertime It was black and white

In life we play Don’t let them take your pawns away In every way you look It’s only Snakes and Ladders Throw a six to start Move the counter, don’t be last And everywhere You turn it’s all just… Snakes and ladders And we’re just waiting for a (our) turn Hope and (with) Daggers There’s nothing here that could be learned So don’t play the game Win or lose its all the same And everywhere You look it’s all just… Snakes and ladders And we’re just waiting for a (our) turn Hope and (with) Daggers There’s nothing here that could be learned

Good Before 03:08
You know I miss your faces You know I miss your smiles Though I know you’re near but so far away I can hear you play And I know you’re ok Never been so near, never been so far away as this now Day after day Week after weekend It’s just a matter of time it’s just a matter of faith Wait after wait Rain after sunshine It’s only a matter of time I only pray that it’s not too late to turn the tide back around Saturday and Sunday it’s all been done before Don’t be afraid, it was good before. You know I miss your faces You know I miss your smiles Though I know you’re near but so far away I can hear you play And I know you’re ok Never been so near, never been so far away as this now Though not for that much longer…

There are certain days When the dots join up And those little lines Coax a picture out and it seems so obvious Make sure you’re not certain We all carry our burdens Just make sure you’re not too sure of yourself There are certain days When the lights go out And inside your brain Won’t let you out and it seems too complicated Make sure you’re not certain We all carry those burdens Just make sure you’re not too sure of yourself In here no hero resides I’m just here for the ride We don’t own anything Not even our minds Make sure you’re not certain We all carry our burdens And nothings for certain We carry those burdens Just make sure you’re not too sure of yourself

Falling 03:48
There’s a vision I hold inside where there’s peace and sunlight And I’m learning To trust this world and let it’s light sail me home There’s nothing to hold me back You have to fall to get up There’s a million Souls before, that have lived and learned and loved I wish I could hear them And all they’ve know, how much further can I go? There’s nothing to hold me back You have to fall to get up There’s no way to claw this back You have to fall to get up

Start Anew 03:46
Just one minute One second Just One fleeting thought I would like for myself I’m tired of being the rock against the sea No limits No let up No little chance to just become ourselves I hope your mind will let you just be you I know the time has come to start anew 5 minutes 1 hour Or take a day to just enjoy our life I hope your mind will let you just be you It’s suffocating everything you do I know the time has come to start anew There’s no life In this life. So we deserve a better life In this life No winning No losing No prying eyes to make me doubt myself I’m just another pebble in the sea Just one minute One second And that fleeting thought has brought us peace at last. I hope your mind will let you just be you It’s suffocating everything you do I know the time has come to start anew I know the time has come to start anew

Without 04:25
Long before. Before the fall You saw Those colours more Growing up Growing old You celebrate Those falls you take Some day, some times The strong will get used to going without, Living without Some will have and some will not But no matter what That spirit shows You got it right the first time around So don’t change nothing Just keep your heading to shoreline Some day, some times The strong will get used to going without Living without There’s no shame in changing your mind There is strength in getting things wrong to make them right

Faster than.... Stronger than... Better than me Smarter than.... Bolder than..... Quicker than me You don’t need those things They don’t mean a thing That’s all that you’re allowed Thats all that you deserve Stronger than I am Better than all I can do Richer than I am Bolder is better so don’t even try to compare You don’t need those things They don’t mean a thing That’s all that you’re allowed That’s all you deserve You were the storm that made no sound I was a wreckage that you'd found You were the sunlight all around I was the shadow on the ground You don’t need those things They don’t mean a thing That’s all that you’re allowed That’s all that you deserve That’s all that you’re allowed That’s all that you’re allowed

about

Inspired by a trip to Brighton to see my good friend Jim Faulkner, where he introduced me to Icelandic artist 'Soley' as well as other musical gems. I got a musical ass kicking that weekend and this is my attempt to get better.
